(The ‘Promotion’) RULES:

Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc (The Promoter),is giving the chance for UK NHS workers to be nominated to win one of 20 holidays to Barbados. We are looking for those unique stories of outstanding individuals and “heroes” who have gone above and beyond in their respective roles during this time. If you know of someone who is an NHS Worker, we invite you to nominate them.

By entering the Promotion, you hereby agree to be bound by these rules (Specific Terms and Conditions). Submitting a nomination will also be deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions. If there is any conflict between these Specific Terms and Conditions and the General Terms and Conditions occurs, these terms and conditions will prevail.

How to Enter
  1. Nominate your NHS Hero by sharing an image or video post to Facebook, Instagram or Twitter outlining who your NHS Hero is and how they have gone above and beyond their call of duty. Posts on Facebook must be posted directly to the timeline of the Barbados Cares NHS Facebook page and not your personal Facebook page.
  2. Image posts should use a caption to nominate your NHS Hero and their story (within the character limit set by the chosen social media platform) and video posts should include a recorded message of your NHS Hero nomination and their story.
  3. Image and Video posts must include a ‘hand heart gesture’ within the image or video, whereby you take both hands and create a heart shape. Alternatively, the Barbados Cares logo can be used as the post image by downloading here or by taking a screenshot from the official pages.
  4. Include #BarbadosCares in your post caption.
  5. Visit the Barbados Cares website (www.BarbadosCares.com) and complete the competition entry form after sharing your post on social media. To fill in the entry form:

Any social media account used to make a post entering the Promotion must be made public for the duration of the Promotion. Any entries made from accounts that are not public at any point during the duration of the Promotion may not be entered and may be treated as void.

This competition is open to residents of the United Kingdom (UK) including England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland for participants that are age 18 or over. This promotion excludes any employees of the Promoter and anyone who otherwise connected with the operation of the Promotion (including third party sponsors and promotional partners) and the immediate families and/or household members of all such individuals.

Each entrant also confirms that anyone depicted in an entry has given their permission for the inclusion of their image, video or any other form of asset in the entry and the use of the entry including their image by the entrant and the Promoter.

The Promotion begins at 12noon(UK time) on 7thMay2020 and closes at 23:59 (UK time) on 31st May 2020. All entries received outside of this period will be void. Participants are permitted to make a maximum of one entry per person per email address during the promotion period. Any entries not submitted through the official entry method will not be accepted.

The use of script, macro or any automated system to enter the Promotion is prohibited and entries made (or appearing to be made) using any such system will be treated as void. Any incomplete or fraudulent entries will also be treated void.

Winners and Prizes

There will be 20 prize winners. Participants will need to create their post on social media nominating their NHS Hero and fill in the online entry form (ensuring all stages of the entry process are complete).

The entry post and first and last name of the winning nominees and persons who selected them may be announced publicly by the Promoter.

The winners will be selected by a panel of judges. The decision of the panel will be final and binding between both the Promoter and competition winners. Winners will be required to provide proof of theiremployment under the NHS. There will be a total of 20 nominees selected as winners. Details of the holiday prize won by the ‘NHS Hero Nominee’s’ are as follows:

  1. A seven (7) night stay for two (2) people on a minimum bed and breakfast basis at any of the partner hotels listed on www.BarbadosCares.com.
  2. Return economy class flights with the standard baggage allowance of the scheduled airline applicable.
  3. Airport transfers in Barbados.

All holidays are subject to availability and blackout dates may apply. The prize must be booked in advance and is valid for travel starting only when current non-essential travel restrictions are lifted. All flight seats, room types, hotel allocations are subject to availability and will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.Whilst the Promoter will make every effort for winners to travel on their preferred dates, winners will be required to submit several potential travel dates in case that the allocation is already used up on their preferred dates. Reservation changes will not be permitted after tickets have been confirmed and hotel rooms have been allocated. All winners will be required to take their holidays latest by 31stOctober 2021.

All incidental expenses will be the responsibility of the prize-winners. Once the holiday has been booked, it is non-changeable and non-refundable. No cash alternative to the prize, in part or in whole, will be offered. If you miss your flight or fail to take the outbound leg of the journey, your flights will be void and cancelled.

Individual winners and the accompanying guest must travel on the same itinerary. All parts of the prize must be used within in the same booking. The prize does not include travel between the winner’s home and the UK airport, travel insurance, food and drink outside of what is previously declared, personal expenses or any other incidental costs. Winners and his/her guest are solely responsible for ensuring they have all the necessary valid travel documentation (including passport/visa/visa waiver as may be required), obtaining adequate travel insurance and appropriate vaccinations / inoculations for foreign travel at their own expense. In the event that, for reasons beyond the Promoter’s reasonable control the Promoter is unable to award the prize as described in these Terms and Conditions, the Promoter reserves the right to award a prize of a similar nature and of an equivalent monetary value.

Winner Announcement and Claiming of Prize

The participant(s) will be notified through their social media handle and/ or other contact details provided to the Promoter within 30days after the end of the promotion period. They will be asked to provide a contact number for their NHS Hero nominee so that the Promoter can contact them and award the prize, as well as verify their eligibility where necessary.

If the winner cannot be contacted or is not available, the promoter reserves the right to re-draw another entrant. Winners may be required to submit valid identification before receiving the prize to prove their eligibility.

Winners will be required to confirm acceptance of their prize within28 days of having been notified. A voucher and all other adequate documentation will be provided to the winner, which must be retained.

If the winner does not claim their prize by the date specified, refuses to or is unable to provide eligible address for receipt of their prize, the Promoter retains the right to award the prize to another participant.

A list of winners (name and general location) can be requested and will be found on the BarbadosCares website after the competition’s close.

Data Protection, Publicity & Rights of Use

Participant data will be collected by the Promoterand may be shared with the Promoter’s agents and affiliates and any third-party prize provider. Information provided by participants will only be used for the purpose of conducting this Promotion (including for prizes to be delivered) and other purposes as may be specified at the time of entry or on other Promoter’spromotional materials. Personal information will be used in accordance with the applicable privacy policy in place.

Participant’s names will be published or made publicly available if they are a winner of the Promotion. We may also make free use of this information and participant’s photographs, videos or audio clips for both during this promotion and future marketing activity by the Promoter. The winner and their guest may also be required to participate in reasonable publicity activities relating to this Promotion in the UK and Barbados.

The winner agrees to the use of their name and image in any publicity material. Any personal data relating to the winner and any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party.

By entering this competition each entrant confirms that their submissions are their wholly-owned creations and that, to the extent that such entries make use of any third party materials, these have been fully cleared unless they are no longer protected by copyright or other intellectual property rights.

By submitting an entry, each entrant grants the Promoter a perpetual, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to edit, publish, translate, modify, adapt, make available and distribute the entry throughout the world in any media now known or hereafter invented.

What is Barbados Cares?

Barbados is a small island with a big heart.
Barbados Cares was launched in October 2019 following the collapse of Thomas Cook, to offer £100 in-resort credit and attraction discounts to visitors who were due to travel to Barbados with the airline and had re-booked through other channels.
Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Barbados Cares has been adapted to become a platform offering incentives, competitions and other such campaigns in times of need, where required, with this website acting as the hub for any future campaigns during challenging times.
